Cannonway Awarded Contract On Major Multi-Billion Dollar Manifa Project in Saudi Arabia


Cannonway Consultants, one of Hong Kong’s leading consultants to the construction industry, has been awarded a contract to provide contractual, commercial and quantity surveying services on an EPC contract for a large-size Utilities, Storage and Shipping Facilities for the Central Processing Facilities in Manifa, Saudi Arabia.

The contract is part of the Manifa Development Program, a huge US$12 billion project entailing both onshore and offshore construction activities. On completion the project will aim to produce 900,000 barrels of heavy crude oil per day from the Manifa Offshore field. It is the second largest of Saudi Aramco’s mega projects in the Kingdom.

Cannonway has been appointed by one of the Main Contractors who are responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction services for the Utilities, Storage and Shipping Facilities, with a contract value in the region of US$2.3 billion, and the project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2011.

Cannonway has been contracted to provide full contracts administration services to the Main Contractor’s Project Management Team from drawing up contracts and bid management, right through the currency of the project, continuing a trend of an increasing number of companies who are relying on Cannonway to provide both contractual and construction industry expertise to manage the complex contractual administration of construction projects, and to deal with issues between the parties as they arise.
