Cannonway Consultants, one of Hong Kong’s leading consultants to the construction industry, has won a contract to provide contractual, commercial and quantity surveying services on the construction of a supercritical-pressure coal-fired power plant. The project is a full-turnkey project, commissioned by the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) in Mexico City. The 700 MW capacity plant, to be installed at CFE's Pacifico power station, will be one of Mexico's largest power plants. The new plant will be located along the Pacific coast, next to the existing Petacalco power station in the state of Guerrero.
Cannonway has been appointed by the Main Contractor (part of a consortium) responsible for the manufacture and installation of the boiler and steam turbine - the main plant components - as well as civil engineering work. The Pacifico project is the first supercritical unit to be erected in Mexico. Supercritical-pressure coal-fired power generation uses higher steam temperatures and pressures, resulting in higher fuel efficiency and being more environmentally friendly than sub-critical plants.
The project is scheduled for completion in February 2010.
Cannonway has been contracted to provide full contracts administration services to the Main Contractor’s Project Management Team, including:
An increasing number of companies are relying on Cannonway to provide both contractual and construction industry expertise to manage the complex contractual administration of construction projects, and to deal with issues between the parties as they arise. This minimizes risk and assists our clients in achieving the best financial outcome to the project.
